Plans have been unveiled to regenerate part of Shepway in Maidstone.
Under the proposals announced by Golding Homes, Cambridge Crescent would be redeveloped to include 240 new homes, an updated shopping area, and new public spaces.
Getting investment in new housing and facilities is good news for the local community and is thanks to the hard work of a lot of people – including local councillors.
But it’s vital that local people have their say on these plans. The focus of any development needs to be on making life better for people who live in Shepway
I’m pleased that Golding Homes has launched a consultation on their plans before submitting a planning application. People can take part in the consultation via an online survey, emailing [email protected] or by calling 01622 212790.
I strongly encourage Shepway residents to have their say. This is a chance for people to help shape the future of their community
While improvements are needed, change can be unsettling. Residents of Cambridge Crescent will rightly have questions about these plans – particularly where they will live during the construction phase and what compensation is on offer.
I’ll be meeting Golding Homes in the summer to discuss how the development can minimise disruption to people’s lives and maximise opportunities for the local community.
