Many of our hospitality and entertainment businesses will soon reopen as we continue to make progress in tackling coronavirus.
As part of the careful easing of lockdown, from Saturday 4 July, pubs and restaurants will be able to reopen, providing they adhere to Covid Secure guidelines, and some leisure facilities and tourist attractions may also reopen if they can do so safely.
It’s another important step in rebuilding our way of life and getting businesses back on their feet.
The latest restrictions to be lifted will allow 440 businesses to reopen in Faversham and Mid Kent – 185 accommodation and food service providers, and 255 businesses involved in arts, entertainment and recreation.
These businesses have had a tough three months. As many of them reopen with social distancing, we need to show our support for local businesses more than ever.
The new guidance will mean people can see more of their friends and family, and help get people back to the jobs they love.
While the infection rate continues to fall, the Prime Minister has been clear that the public must continue to follow social distancing guidelines to keep coronavirus under control. The Government will keep all measures under constant review.
