Children could be left with no school to go to unless we get this much-needed new school on the Valley Invicta site opens by 2019.
I called a meeting o knock some heads together and try and break the deadlock after an application for the new school was withdrawn two days before it was due to be decided by Maidstone Borough Council.
Officials from the Education and Funding Skills Agency, Alison Broom, Chief Executive of Maidstone Borough Council, Roger Gough, Cabinet Member for Education at KCC, Vic Ashdown, Headteacher of Valley Park School, and Helen Grant MP attended.
It was a useful discussion and I’m optimistic we’ll see some progress after the crucial meeting on 18th December, If not I will be taking this problem to the Minister.
