Farmers in Kent produce some of Britain's best food and work hard to manage the countryside. Following the referendum result they need assurances that the Government will continue to provide the support they need after we leave the EU.
So I was happy to sign the National Farmers' Union pledge pledge to back British farming. I've committed to do all I can to make sure the Government develops a new domestic agricultural policy that delivers for Kent's farmers.
I attended an NFU reception in Westminster, along with MPs from across the political spectrum, to urge the Government to put farming at the top of the agenda as we reshape policy post Brexit.
