Fly-tipping is a persistent nuisance - spoiling the countryside, blocking gateways, footpaths and even roads sometimes, and expensive to clear up.
Boughton Moncheslea has been experiencing a spate of fly-tipping incidents. Responding to requests from residents, I recently contacted Maidstone Borough Council, asking them to take action. I am happy to report that mobile CCTV has been installed in “hotspots” in the village with the intention of catching and prosecuting flytippers. I am also hopeful that this surveillance will lead to a decrease in flytipping in the village, which has been a persistent problem for some time and on occasion has been so bad that roads have had to be closed in order to clear up the rubbish.
