Figures released today by the Office for National Statistics show unemployment has fallen again in Faversham and Mid Kent, down to 1.4% in May. This means that since May 2010 unemployment in the constituency has fallen by 55%. At the same time as unemployment is falling, today’s figures show real wages are growing at their fastest rate since 2007, with annual wage growth now at 2.7%.

This is very positive news, but the job is not done and we must continue to work hard to help all of those still seeking jobs into work, particularly by continuing to support local businesses and enterprise.”
