Modernising our railway is absolutely essential.
It's our ticket to safer, faster and cheaper journeys, and I'm really excited by everything the government's doing to drive it forward.
However, plans to close ticket offices in stations have left lots of local passengers worried. While many of us prefer to buy our tickets online or at the ticket machines, lots of people still rely on good old-fashioned face-to-face service - especially older or disabled passengers.
We can't allow them to be left behind by these changes. That's why I wrote to the Transport Secretary recently, calling for assurances on their behalf - including that station staff are still on hand to offer face-to-face help, and passengers who have tried their best to buy tickets won't be penalised if they haven't been able to.
You can read my full letter below, and please don't hesitate to be in touch with my office if you've got concerns I haven't covered.
We've got to bring everyone with us as we make these changes.
