Coronation Clean-Up!

Seeing litter lying around is one of my absolute bugbears - and judging by my inbox I'm not the only one!

I want our local area to be looking its best for the Coronation weekend, and so I'm organising a weekend of litter-busting action before the big day.

I've asked local groups to host events on one of the following days:

  • Friday 28th April
  • Saturday 29th April
  • Sunday 30th April

Have a look at the map below to see where events are taking place - there are more being added all the time!

Please do come along if you'd like to help out! If you let me know by emailing me at helen.whately.mp@parliament.uk, I can make sure enough equipment makes it to every event.

Also, if you'd like to clean an area which isn't on the list just send me an email and I can arrange for you to be lent some equipment.

I'm also asking local organisations like Maidstone and Swale Borough Councils, Network Rail and National Highways to get involved too and do some cleaning of their own.

I hope to see some of you out there!

Environmental improvements

Reversing the decline in biodiversity and nature we've seen across the UK in recent years is one of the most important things we’ll ever do.   Here in the Garden of England we’re blessed with some of the most beautiful countryside in the world.

Faversham underpass finally finished!

It’s brilliant to see the Faverhsam underpass mural completed. As so many Faversham residents will know, the underpass has been in desperate need of some love and attention. With this in mind, earlier in the year I brought a local team together to work on a plan to give it a facelift.
