The chief executive of Thameslink has written back to me about the delayed introduction of Thameslink services from Maidstone East. In his letter he says that the new services have been postponed to avoid disruption on existing services.
I remain disappointed that the services were announced for May 2018, only to be pushed back to December 2019. I understand that people had already been moving to the area to benefit from the new services
In the letter, chief executive Mr Horton notes that the £7 billion investment from Thameslink into Kent's railways will help to upgrade the poor rail infrastructure we suffer from in the south east. You can read the full letter here.
