I know people are really worried about the 6 month closure of Upper Street in Leeds from July to January.
Leeds has had more than its fair share of roadworks recently, and I can understand residents pulling their hair out about the idea of another six months.
While the £840,000 investment in the local water network is good news, people need to go about their lives while it's going on - including local businesses.
That's why earlier this week I wrote to KCC and South East Water to raise a number of concerns, and push them both to make decisions that mean as little impact as possible on people and business in and around Leeds.
A complete traffic management scheme is needed to make this work - along with other solutions.
You can read my letter to them below, and find out more about the closure and see the answers to some FAQs by following this link: https://www.southeastwater.co.uk/leeds
Please let me know how you’re affected so I can continue to make sure that KCC and South East Water listen to your concerns, or alternatively head along to the South East Water drop-in session at the beginning of May.
Together we can keep Leeds moving while the works take place.
