More and more people are being detained under the Mental Health Act every year and people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds are being disproportionately affected.
The Government has launched and independent review of the Mental Health Act, chaired by the former president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, to find out how the legislation can be improved.
The review is asking people who have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, or have cared for someone who has been sectioned, to share their experiences by responding to a survey.
If you would like to contribute, I encourage you to respond to the survey here: https://r1.surveysandforms.com/4c3zqo08-882s0m96
