Bigger lorries carrying more waste for longer hours – no wonder people are worried about the proposals to expand the recycling works.
Walkers are scared they’ll be mowed down by trucks using the lane. People living nearby fear more noise and dust. Ospringe is already suffering from heavy traffic, and recently lorries seem to have been diverting through Faversham itself too.
Though this has been an industrial site for many years, soon there will be a new housing estate right next to it and hundreds more residents will be affected.
While there’s support for improvements to the site like better conditions for workers, the impact on people living nearby must be taken into account.
UPROARE, the local residents group, have done a great job bringing people together and speaking up for the community on this.
