Last week we got some brilliant news for our local students.
Schools in Faversham and Mid Kent are getting an extra £2.3 million of funding this spring, as part of a £2 billion boost for schools across the country. That's worth on average £35,000 to every primary school, and around £200,000 to a typical secondary school.
It brings education funding up to its highest real terms in history, showing just how committed the Prime Minister is to schools and education.
He wants more kids leaving school with the skills they need - starting with making sure that every child learns to read, write & add up. It's so important for them and for their future, and it's exactly what our economy needs too.
Education is one of the absolute best investments we can make in our collective futures, and I'm so pleased to see it being prioritised even in these difficult times.
