Losing a pet is any pet owner’s worst nightmare.
Back in 2019 we made a manifesto commitment to make cat microchipping compulsory - to make sure more cats can be reunited with their families, and vets can make contact quickly when an injured or unwell cat is found away from home.
That new law is coming into force on the 10th June, and earlier this month I stopped by Cats Protection Bredhurst Adoption Centre to talk about the impact it’s going to have.
The Centre does some amazing work, including taking in cats who have no owner or whose families are unable to keep them. By doing the responsible thing and taking them to an experienced organisation, they can make sure they’re carefully matched with a family for adoption.
I met some lovely cats during my visit, including some kittens looking for a new home! If you’re looking for an addition to your family, please get in touch with the brilliant team at Cats Protection.
