I’m delighted that Medway Maritime Hospital has turned things around, and is no longer in special measures following its latest CQC inspection. This is great news as it means patients are receiving better care. Maternity and gynaecology teams deserve particular congratulations for being rated outstanding for caring.
This has been a really tough period for Medway Maritime, but this result goes to show what can be achieved when committed staff - doctors, nurses and other medical professionals - pull together. Congratulations to everyone at Medway, especially Chief Executive Lesley Dwyer who has put so much energy into transforming this hospital.
