Our Maidstone Apprenticeship Fair is about matching local students with some of the fantastic opportunities out there.
I’ve hosted it every year since 2018 with my fellow Kent MPs Tracey Crouch, Helen Grant, and Tom Tugendhat – but sadly we had to miss last year because of Covid.
I’m so pleased that this year it’s back at the Maidstone Leisure Centre on Friday 11 March.
We’ve got over 1,300 students coming from across Kent to see what’s on offer, and around 50 employers to chat to. These include Faversham and Mid Kent businesses like MEP Ltd and Shepherd Neame, right the way though to big national employers like Amazon and the NHS.
University isn’t for everyone, and this Fair will give students a chance to think about what else might be available. Apprenticeships offer people a fast-track to develop skills while working and earning.
They’re part of our Plan for Jobs, which is getting hundreds of thousands of people into work, and equipping them with the skills they need to succeed.
If you want to find out more about the event – as someone considering an apprenticeship or a business looking to recruit – please contact my office at [email protected], or on 0207 219 6472 for more information.
