People in Faversham and Mid Kent will be benefitting from our new UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Both Maidstone and Swale Borough Councils have been allocated funding to spread opportunity and make life better for people in places most in need of support.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund delivers on our commitment to match previous EU funding, but also slashes bureaucracy and makes the fund more flexible and locally led.
Over £2.6 billion will be allocated to local communities in every part of the United Kingdom, with Maidstone Borough Council getting £1,199,253 and Swale Borough Council getting £1,169,496.
The funding will help unleash the creativity and talent of communities that have for too long been overlooked and undervalued as we level up every corner of the United Kingdom.
In addition to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Kent will also be getting over £7.5 million from the Multiply scheme to boost adult numeracy - helping more people achieve their potential and access good jobs.
I’m determined to see our plans to level up communities benefit every part of the country, including here in Kent.
