I’m delighted to be working with other Kent MPs to host the third annual Maidstone Apprenticeship Fair.
Apprenticeships are a great way of learning while earning, and getting valuable qualifications at the same time. But we often don’t value them enough.
This year’s event will take place on Friday 7 February at Maidstone Leisure Centre.
It's an opportunity for year 11, 12 and 13 students from the local area to meet potential employers and explore apprenticeship opportunities.
Whilst the university and college routes are known to most school leavers, apprenticeships can get overlooked. Events like this are so important for helping young people navigate the apprenticeship system and finding a career path that is right for them.
We’ve got some fantastic employers in this country – and with wages rising and confidence in our economy, this is an exciting time to be entering the world of work.
More than 40 organisations have already confirmed their attendance including blue chip organisations such as: Barclays, BAE Systems, BMW, Lloyds Banking Group, Network Rail, Pfizer, Transport for London and The Army.
If you want to find out more about the event – as someone considering an apprenticeship or a business looking to recruit – contact my office on 0207 219 6472 for more information.
