Litter by the roads is ugly and a threat to the environment.
I've asked Highways England what they are doing to keep Kent clean.
David Brewer, Executive Director of Highways England who are responsible for the roads, told me that their crews regularly pick up litter along the A2 and M2, but that this can be dangerous and sometimes roads need to be closed.
Since January 2014, the Government has been working to prevent people from dropping litter in the first place. You can read more about the litter strategy here.
I will continue to push to get the rubbish removed from our roadsides so that Kent is a tidy and attractive place to live and work.
