Helen Whately has been elected as the new Member of Parliament for Faversham and Mid-Kent with a majority of 16,652.
Helen said:
"I am absolutely delighted to have been elected as the new MP for Faversham and Mid-Kent. It is the most incredible, awe-inspiring honour. Not least to be succeeding Sir Hugh Robertson, who has served this constituency with commitment and integrity for the last 14 years.
I would like to thank everyone for their support over the past few weeks, and everyone who voted Conservative on election day.
There is so much going for this area, and so much to fight for. I feel incredibly lucky that I will have the chance to fight for it as the Member of Parliament. I will do my very best for the people of Faversham and Mid Kent.
If there is ever anything I can do to help, no matter how big or small the problem, please do let me know."
