Disabled passengers, parents with buggies – anyone who can’t use stairs – can’t get onto the London-bound platform at Headcorn. Some people are going in the wrong direction as far as Ashford to get to a station with a lift. It’s high time we got some investment in Headcorn Railway Station.
The Government has announced a £300 million fund to improve step-free access at train station, and I want you to get involved and nominate Headcorn for its fair share of the money.
Headcorn will be in competition with many other stations across the South East and we need to put a strong case for this station to be prioritised for funding.
I urge all residents and users of this station to go on line and express their support. Nominations can be made online at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/southeasternrailway and need to be submitted by Sunday 30 September 2018.
