Today I received an update from the Digital Minister Margot James about broadband and mobile coverage. Nationally, 95% of premises have access to high speed broadband, and the strategy to roll-out 5G is on track. In the constituency, too many households and businesses are struggling to get a reliable connection to the internet and can't make mobile phone calls. I am pressing Ministers to make sure that efforts to modernise our digital infrastructure start in difficult-to-reach places like Kent rather than urban centres where it might be easier to upgrade services.
