I’ve received assurances from the Post Office that the branch in Faversham is fully staffed and operating as normal.
There had been concerns that the Faversham post office was going to close or operate reduced hours, following ZCO Ltd taking over the running of the branch on a franchise basis earlier this year.
I raised these concerns with the Post Office directly. I’m pleased that they have given a commitment to keep the branch at the heart of the town, not just in the short term, but for the long term too. It’s also good to see that the Faversham branch will remain open on Saturdays from 9.00am to 5.30pm.
Having a post office in the town is vital. Whether you’re a business or local resident, we need post office services to be accessible and help support a thriving town centre.
The Post Office have issued the statement below:
“We understand that our branches offer vital services to communities. The team at Faversham Post Office remain committed to providing important services to the town. The recent change at Faversham has been made to ensure that the branch remains at the heart of the town, not just in the short term, but for the long term too.”

I know there are still problems with this branch, and I'll be contacting the Post Office again in the New Year. People need a post office they can rely on. Last minute closures and huge queues are not acceptable.
