I'm delighted that the Transport Secretary Chris Grayling announced today that Southeastern commuters will benefit from 68 additional carriages. This will mean that there will be 5000 more seats on busy peak time trains, helping to reduce overcrowding.
Constituents who commute often tell me that they cannot get a seat as trains are so busy, and it's not uncommon for commuter services to be shortformed, causing even more mayhem. I hope that this good news will mean more reliable and comfortable rail journeys.
